SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26

 Anderson, Jackson, Kessler, Edgell, Plymale, Redd, Hunter and
 Tomblin, Mr. President)
Commemorating the 250th birthday of Marlinton, West Virginia.
Whereas, Marlinton, West Virginia, is the location of the
 first United States settlement west of the Allegheny Mountains;
 and
Whereas, Marlin and Sewell built the first cabin in the
 Pocahontas County woods in 1749; and
Whereas, Marlinton has great historical significance to its
 residents and to the residents of the State of West Virginia;
 therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby commemorates the 250th birthday
 celebration of Marlinton; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
 forward a copy of this resolution to the Mayor of Marlinton.
